Trek to Harihar - July -1-2007

After terrifying rain of 30th June next day we set out for Harihar.
We (means Sameer, Ujju, Yogish, Sanjay, Sunil, Amit, Sukhada, Pallavi & Pritam) meet at 7:30 am on July first at thane station and by Tapovan Express went to Igatpuri. After having some snacks I and Sanjay went to check out transportation to fort, but surprised as no one know about it, after one hour search we found one person who some how got information about route to village and he was ready to take us there; we booked his Maruti OMNI for to-fro base village of Harihar that is Nirgudpada.

We reached base village at around 2 PM, and took two local boys Bhagawan and Raja to show us route. It was raining little but everything was in clouds. We reached to the base of Staircase of Harihar by 4 PM. It is a cole with very fast wind and heavy rain, it was hitting us like needles.

We were not able to see fort at all due to clouds but momment we reach in the cole and suddenly staircase appeared from clouds, and the first reaction of all of us is "OF MY GOD" do we have to climb this??

It was very windy and very cold too so some of us decided not to go to top and few of us climbed up to the top, the experience of climbing harihar staircase one can not put in words. With in 15 mins we reach to top but to our disappointment nothing is visible due to totally cloudy surroundings, so we get back to cole quickly. And immediately all group started getting down as it was 5pm by that time. We reached to base by 6:30 and left for Kasara. We reach Kasara by 8:30 PM and waited 1 hour for train. All reached Home between 12:30 t0 1:30.

Hushh very tiring really but rocking experience...
